Steel Structure & Bridges

Teach-free robots, bevel cutting and CNC cutting for H-beams, box girders and bridge members.

Industry Solution

Automated welding and cutting for steel structures

H-beams, box girders, steel frames and bridge members involve many component types, long seams and high programming effort. Shuanghua combines teach-free and mobile welding robots with CNC plate cutting, robotic bevel cutting and portable fillet welding carriages to automate the complete fabrication flow.

Challenges

What manufacturers need

Many component types

Manual robot programming for every beam or girder is slow and costly.

Long seams on large parts

Fixed robots cannot reach the full length of large structural members.

Bevel preparation

Manual semi-automatic bevel cutting is labour-intensive and inconsistent.

Fit-up tolerances

Real workpieces deviate from the drawing and the process must adapt.

Our Solution

Equipment configuration

  1. Plate cutting & bevelling

    Gantry CNC plasma/flame cutting machines and the vision-based robotic double-bevel cutting system (V, Y, K bevels, ±15°–60°).

  2. Teach-free robotic welding

    SHR7M teach-free robots on 7 m / 14 m ground rails automatically generate seam-finding and welding paths; fit-up tolerance up to ±10 mm.

  3. Mobile welding for large members

AI mobile welding robots recognise workpieces with ≤0.5 mm vision accuracy and move between stations.

  4. Fillet welding on site

Magnetic and rail welding carriages turn long manual fillet seams into continuous automatic welding.
